Keystone XL —- Environmental activist Alex Moore joins protestors near the White House

Environmental activist Alex Moore, left, joins protestors gathered across the White House in Washington, Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, during a rally against the 1,900-mile oil pipeline from the Alberta tar sands which would stretch through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma to Texas. The rally coincides with the Canadian Prime Minister Harper’s visit to the White House. The project’s developer, Calgary-based TransCanada, says the pipeline would improve U.S. energy security and reduce dependency on oil from the Middle East and Venezuela but environmental groups call the pipeline an ecological disaster waiting to happen.
